Seasonal hair loss

Hair loss in autumn and winter

seasonal hair lossGenerally in autumn and winter a good part part of men and women complains an increase of hair fall. In fact, statistical studies and trials have shown that during the autumn and precisely during the months of October, November and December will notice an increase in the number of hairs that are detached from the hair follicle. Normally, during the 24 hours, all of us in standard conditions are subject to a loss of about 80-100 hairs per day, a number which inevitably increases in autumn and that can even reach 200 units. First of all, remember that the seasonal change of hair is a normal physiological process, a process also active in other living beings. In the autumn, the trees lose their leaves, mammals change the hair and the man loses his hair. And so the problem of hair loss in autumn could be seen only as a genetic problem, of DNA.

Why does hair fall in Autumn?

Many other factors influence the process of loss:
1) The autumn comes after summer, a time when our hair is subjected to high thermal stress (the sun that beats down on the scalp), mechanical (brush your hair and scrubbed several) and we also say "chemical" (salt and shampoos even 3 times a day) and then in the fall we begin to suffer the ill effects of summer;
2) The return to old habits, to work, to everyday traffic causes stress and anxiety and everything that can not make it weak and susceptible our hair;
3) Poor and unbalanced diet devoid of trace elements, vitamins and nutrients needed to keep our hair healthy. In this regard, we recall that essential nutrients are the B vitamins and vitamin H or biotin.

If in autumn we have continually itch into the scalp and discomfort, we have to run for cover, perhaps in consultation with the pharmacist or our dermatologist trichologist in order to prevent any kind of problem.
However, we must distinguish between a natural and physiological hair loss called telogen effluvium autumnal (which still can be countered by following basic tips to protect the hair) from a hair loss due to genetic factors or androgenetic alopecia. In this second case, which can be diagnosed by the doctor trichologist, are needed other well treatments and medicines.
